Years ago Frankenmuth Brewery was known not only for its beer, but also its Purebred Dachshunds. Tired of caring for the prized weiner dogs, the brewmeister decided to come up with an incentive for a local boy to care for the pedigreed pups... Authentic, fresh brewed Root Bier. Whether the brew was named after the boy, the dogs or the Brewmaster's favourite dish remains a heated debate to this day.
